Mon Mone was born to the Dam “Etoile Du Lion” and the Sire “Passing Sale” in France in April 2000.
Mon Mone ran in the Grand National three times. In his first run in 2008 he finished tenth to Comply or Die, who was the joint favourite with Cloudy Lane. Mon Mones odds in this race were 28/1.
In 2009 his odds were even longer. Priced at 100/1 and with Liam Treadwell on the reigns Mon Mone was up against some talented horses, including the previous years winner Comply or Die, Black Apalachi, My Will and thje 7/1 Favourite, Butlers Cabin.
This didnt seem to affect him though as Mon Mone stormed to victory by 12 lengths in a time of 9 minutes and 34 seconds at those magical 100/1 odds for trainer Venetia Williams.
The following year Mon Mone raced in the Grand National again. However, despite his 14/1 starting price, he parted company with jockey Aiden Coleman at the 26th fence.
Mon Mone retired from racing in 2013.
